The creamiest Microwave Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly Oatmeal in just 3 minutes in the microwave, you’ll never buy oatmeal packets again!
Microwave PB& J Oatmeal is not boring oatmeal. Mostly because it has PB&J in it. Who knew?
Oatmeal is a classic breakfast. Peanut Butter and Jelly is a classic lunch. What do you get when you combine two classics? A masterpiece. Take a bow Da Vinci, take a bow.
MICROWAVE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY OATMEAL
PB&J isn’t just for late night hangover food anymore. Or, if that’s what you have planned for this recipe, we don’t judge. It’s really, really easy to make, just follow these easy instructions…and maybe drink some water.
Basically all you have to do is pour your oats into a bowl or that coffee mug you were holding your pens in (please remove pens first) add some water, nuke it for a bit, add some evaporated milk, nuke it again, stir in the peanut butter and some sugar and let everything stew for a minute, then add the jelly and go to town on it! Also, maybe take an aspirin. You’ll thank yourself in the morning.
How to make Microwave Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal
- Put the oats in a large mug or cup and add water.
- Stir, then microwave on high for 1 minute.
- Remove from the microwave and stir in the milk.
- Return to the microwave to cook for another minute.
- Stir the peanut butter and sugar and allow the mixture to stand for 1 minute.
- Serve with a dollop of jelly.
SAVE SOME FOR LATER
Really? You can’t finish a coffee mug full of oatmeal? Well, if you want to save the rest to eat later or to use to prank your roommate, cover the bowl or mug with plastic wrap or pour the oatmeal into something airtight and put it in the fridge. The oatmeal should last up to about a week, but you should definitely eat it sooner rather than later.
COST FACTOR
$: This is an extremely cheap recipe. All you need is some rolled oats, a jar of peanut butter, a packet of jelly, and some sugar.
MICROWAVE TABLE
- 1,000 watts or higher: Higher wattage, lower cook time. Our microwave is about 1,250 watts, but if you have one with about 1,000 watts you will want to cook this recipe like this. Start by microwaving for 1:12, then again for 1:12.
- 700 watts: Microwaves under about 900 don’t heat things evenly or consistently, so don’t go anywhere while you’re cooking. Your cook time will be 1:43, and then again for 1:43.
