We know that ramen comes with its own flavor packets, but sometimes you have to think outside the package and try something a little different.

In this particular case, thinking outside the package means making yourself a delicious dish of Southwestern noodles.

Tortilla and Lime Ramen is an absolutely delicious combination that you can make for pretty much any occasion. And by occasion, we mean pretty much any late night that you wake up starving and just can’t bring yourself to get an Uber to take you through a drive-through. You know, those nights.

HOW TO MAKE MICROWAVE TORTILLA AND LIME RAMEN

  1. Add the ramen noodles to your ramen noodle cooker and fill with water (if you don’t have one, cook them the usual way you do, then drain them).
  2. Cook for 2 minutes then add salsa verde and lime packet, stir, and cook 1 minute.
  3. Top with chips.

SAVE SOME FOR LATER
Just cover the bowl you made your ramen in with plastic wrap and then put it in the fridge for up to 3 days. When you’re feeling hungry and are ready for seconds, just put the Tortilla and Lime Ramen back in the microwave for 1 minute, give it a stir, then add more time as needed.

COST FACTOR
$: So you can buy 14 tons of ramen for about $1.50 (this is not actually true, but you get our point.) This means that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to make this recipe, and it’s also a good way to use up any limes you bought for tequila right before you had a really rough night and swore off the sauce.

MICROWAVE TABLE

  • 1,000 watts or higher: Higher wattage, lower cook time. Our microwave is about 1,250 watts, but if you have one with about 1,000 watts you will want to cook the Ramen for 2:25 minutes, then again for 1:15.
  • 700 watts: Microwaves under about 900 don’t heat things evenly or consistently, so don’t go anywhere while you’re cooking. Cook the Ramen for about 3:25, then again for 1:45.
