Microwave Oreo Cake is a delicious, rich, chocolatey cake filled with Oreo goodness in every bite. Ready to be devoured in minutes!
Oreos are some of the best cookies ever invented, and the only thing that can make them even more spectacular is to make them into a delicious, fluffy, chocolatey cake. This cake is the perfect thing to stuff into your face at 2 in the morning while binge watching Netflix like a boss.
MICROWAVE OREO CAKE
It’s late, the show you’ve been waiting for just released a new season to binge, and you need something to snack on while you and your friend who is equally obsessed with the show settle in for the next few hours. What do you do?
Make this perfect, fluffy, delicious cake and stuff your face. This cake is so easy, you can make one for your friend as well, before the previous season recap has even finished.
The best part about making this cake is the part where you expertly crush the Oreos. Basically, you put the Oreos into a plastic bag and smash the you-know-what out of it against the wall, or under a book, or under a shoe with gusto.
You can make it a competition between you and your friend thus settling once and for all who is the better cookie crusher. It’s a good way to blow off some steam, plus you both get a delicious dessert out of it at the end. It’s the ultimate win-win.
HOW TO MAKE MICROWAVE OREO CAKE
- Add the Oreos to a large ziplock bag and crush well (preferably with a large textbook you hate).
- Add the Oreo crumbs, milk, sugar and baking powder to a bowl and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with broken Oreos.
- Cook on high heat for 2 minutes.
SERVE OREO CAKE WITH
If you have some leftover ice cream you’ve been meaning to use up, here’s your chance! Scoop up a little and lay it right on top of your cake. It will only get more delicious as it melts into the warm Oreo goodness, you’re welcome.
VARIATIONS ON OREO CAKE
- Add ins: You can add in all sorts of things, but here are some of the best. Smash up some nuts and stir those in, or get a bag of chocolate chips and put some of them in the cake and the rest in your mouth. You can also mix in peanut butter cups or M&Ms to make it even more rich and delicious.
- Oreos: Yes, there are Oreos that make the cake batter. Yes, there are Oreos mixed in. Yes, you can sprinkle them on top. But we never specified what kind of Oreos. That is up to you. Go traditional, Double Stuff, or get wild with some limited edition flavors like Candy Cane for a minty, chocolatey Christmas Cake.
- Toppings: All of the things that you can mix into the cake can also be sprinted over the top to make the cake look and taste even more amazing. You can also add on some delicious chocolate frosting, some Cool Whip, or just straight chocolate syrup.
SAVE SOME FOR LATER
Take some plastic wrap and tightly wrap the top of the bowl. As long as the cake is airtight, it should stay good for up to 4 days before it dries out. You can also keep the cake in a sealable container, just as long as it can keep the moisture and air out.
COST FACTOR
$: There’s not a ton of ingredients in this cake, and you can find them for fairly inexpensive at your local grocery store.
MICROWAVE TABLE
- 1,000 watts or higher: Higher wattage, lower cook time. Our microwave is about 1,250 watts, but if you have one with about 1,000 watts you will want to cook the cake for about 2:24.
- 700 watts: Microwaves under about 900 don’t heat things evenly or consistently, so don’t go anywhere while you’re cooking. Cook the cake for 3:26 but keep an eye on it.
