Let’s face it, few cookies are better than Oreos, especially when you’ve just broken up with someone and are binge watching sad movies. Now you can make them into a delicious, fluffy cake in your microwave to enjoy with your newer, better S.O.

Microwave Oreo Chocolate CakeULTIMATE MICROWAVE OREO CHOCOLATE CAKE

Microwaves cakes are amazing because all you have to do is throw together some ingredients into a cereal bowl, stir a little, and throw it into the microwave (don’t actually throw it if you value both your bowl and the microwave itself).

HOW TO MAKE A MICROWAVE OREO CHOCOLATE CAKE:

  • Use a 6” cereal bowl.
  • Mix butter, water, and egg together
  • Add in the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  • Top with cream cheese chunks and chocolate chips.
  • Microwave for 1:30 seconds.

TOPPINGS

  • Powdered sugar: Not just for donuts, powdered sugar makes your cake really fancy looking. If you’re trying to impress someone, dust the top with a little to make pretty designs.
  • Cool whip: I really can’t say this enough, cool whip and chocolate cake are a match made in heaven. Coat the entire top or daintily spread some on individual pieces, it’s up to you.
  • Chopped nuts: Again, if you want to look really fancy you can add chopped up nuts to the top of the cake in patterns or go freeform, Jackson Pollock style. Make sure your date doesn’t have a peanut allergy first, anaphylactic shock isn’t a good or safe look on anyone.

LEFTOVERS
If you just can’t finish all of the cake, but aren’t quite ready to let go, cover it with some plastic wrap or put it in a baggie and keep it in the fridge. Cake will stay good in the fridge for up to a week. I wouldn’t recommend putting it in the fridge with all the toppings on it, whipped cream can turn the cake mushy and gross over time.

COST
$$$: Once you buy the ingredients the first time, the cost of this cake goes way down. The ingredients are great for multiple recipes and you can use today’s main ingredient for tomorrow’s dessert topping. Just make sure you store everything well sealed in a cool, dry place to keep them from getting disgusting. Trust me, you’ll be grateful later when there’s nothing living in your flour.

MICROWAVE TABLE

  • 1,000 watts or higher: Higher wattage, lower cook time. Our microwave is about 1,250 watts, but if you have one with about 1,000 watts you will want to cook this recipe for about 1:50.
  • 900 watts: Change the cook time to 1:50, but make sure you keep an eye on it.
  • 700 watts: Microwaves under about 900 don’t heat things evenly or consistently, so don’t go anywhere while you’re cooking. Cook the cake for about 2:40.
